About us:

Post-punk psych blues 4 piece hailing from London and Oxford ANTARCTICA SOUND formed organically in the summer of 2013 they played their first gig as a "one off" at a party in the bar of The Roundhouse, Camden. After that, it felt right to keep the band together. All songs are original compositions with music written by guitarist, Luke Mills and bassist, Tommy Palmer and lyrics and top line melodies in the storytelling tradition by Al Pesskin with newest member Nick Smith on drums. The band draw comparisons to “Boy” era U2, Duran Duran, Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles with strong cinematic Americana road movie influences. Think Easy Rider meets Kowalski at The Last Exit to Brooklyn. Regulars on the London live circuit at iconic venues (The Dublin castle, Water Rats Theatre, The Hope and Anchor among others), ANTARCTICA SOUND have ended 2018 on a high note with a DIY release for debut single "Days you Were" followed by 4track EP release and launch party at Zigfrid Von Underbelly, Hoxton for "The Judas Sessions EP". Now an accomplished live act ANTARCTICA SOUND are seeking their debut festival appearance in summer 2019. Thanks for listening and best wishes ANTARCTICA SOUND antarctic
