Gigs Academy Day at Wembley Park

Gigs is the Mayor of London’s annual busking competition and has been showcasing amazing young musical talent since 2009 at some of the capital's busiest and iconic locations. In 2016 we brought the competition to Wembley Park for the first time.

Gigs is more than a competition – it opens the door to a range of opportunities through the Busk in London programme, including exclusive performance opportunities and paid gigs. There are also some amazing prizes up for grabs. Consider the competition as intense training in the art of public performance.

This year we'll be holding our first ever Gigs Academy Day with Wembley Park on Saturday 3 June, designed to help you prepare for entry into the competition and how to get the most out of the two week live performance period.

The day will offer practical sessions including vocal and physical health for performance, stage craft, audience engagement, knowing your equipment, and how to market yourself (online presence/video/website/social media).  All participants attend every session and the day ends with a Q&A, plus a special guest performer from one of our successful artists who has come through the competition.

Spaces are strictly limited so to apply to be part of the day, simply fill out the application form. You'll need to be registered on the site, which you can do here.
